More than two hours after an emergency alert told residents in a Pickering neighbourhood to shelter in place, a manhunt is underway for the suspect in a stabbing police say was unprovoked. The local police chief said officers had no knowledge of a motive for the attack, which he called “sadistic and cowardly.”
