UPDATE @ 9:12 p.m. EDT: The Toronto Catholic School Board (TCDSB) has announced that all TCDSB facilities, including daycare centres, will be closed Monday Dec.23 and Tuesday Dec. 24, 2013.
TORONTO – With the Greater Toronto Area still reeling from the effects of a devastating ice storm, all Toronto, Peel, Durham, and York Region district school board facilities will be closed to the public on Monday.
The various school boards took to social media to inform local residents of the closures.
In addition to the classroom closures, all child care programs will also be closed.
Roughly 300,000 people are without power across the province with over 200,000 of them located in or around the Greater Toronto Area.
